Background documentation Installing SAP MI on the Mobile Device (New) Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

You can either set up SAP MI on the mobile device yourself or let the user do this. In both cases, the user needs to perform additional steps (see SAP MI Setup Performed by User of Mobile Device).

You can install SAP MI in the following ways:

Using a setup package. If you want to install without an Internet or network connection you can use a setup package. The setup package already contains applications and data for the user of the mobile device. This reduces the initial synchronization time.

For more information on creating a setup package, see Mobile Device Installation Using Setup Packages.

Using a URL from which you or the user can download the installation. For more information, see Mobile Device Installation Using the URL.

Using the client installation file. For more information, see Mobile Device Installation with Client Installation File. This type of installation can also be done by the user.

Using a preinstalled Compact Flash Card.

You can install on Compact Flash Cards and then give these to the users. You have various options for single or mass installations. For more information, see Installing the SAP MI Client on the Compact Flash Card.

Further information on installing on the mobile device can be found in the following Notes:
