Procedure documentation Searching for and Deleting Obsolete Mobile Devices Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Large amounts of redundant information can accumulate on the server because the relevant data is not automatically deleted when a client is deleted on a mobile device. To delete this data you must determine which devices are no longer in use. You use the SAP NetWeaver function Device Removal to do this. You can establish which devices are no longer in use by referring to the date of the last synchronization; if the device was last synchronized a long time ago, you can assume that this device is no longer used, and its data can be deleted from the server.

Prerequisites

You have started the Mobile Administrator.

Procedure

...

       1.      Change to the function Device Removal.

       2.      Enter a synchronization date and start the search.

Note

Enter a date that occurred far enough in the past to exclude the possibility that the user has not synchronized simply because he or she is on holiday or on sick leave.

The results list contains all the devices that last synchronized either before or on the date specified.

       3.      Select the devices to be deleted and delete them on an individual basis or all together.

Result

The data from the devices that are now obsolete is deleted from the server.
