Functions for Monitoring and Controlling the
Mobile Device
SAP MI provides you with functions to monitor and control the mobile device. You can distribute these functions to the mobile device using device configurations. This procedure depends on how your system is managed.
●
If you are using
the SAP MI Web Console, see
Configuration of
Mobile Devices Using Device Configurations
● If you are using the Mobile Administrator, see Configuration of Mobile Devices Using Device Configurations (new).
You can use the following functions:
You use this function to monitor the battery capacity of the mobile device. If it has been configured to do so, the battery capacity is logged on the mobile device and transferred to the server in regular intervals during the synchronization.
This function allows you to read and set values in the registry for the mobile device.
You use this function to configure the scripts on the mobile device.
● Definition of Startup Values
You can use this function to define which applications are automatically started when the mobile device is started. The device sends the status of the respective application to the Computing Center Management System (CCMS). If an application that is optional cannot be started, the system displays a warning (yellow). If a mandatory application cannot be started, the system generates an error (red).
This function enables you to monitor the storage media and the memory space of a mobile device. When the mobile device synchronizes, the current memory status is transferred into the SAP MI Server Component. If the status is critical, it is displayed in the Computing Center Management System (CCMS).
You use this function to monitor and change the time and date settings on the mobile device.
● Setting Parameters in MobileEngine.config (MI_CONFIG)
You use this function to configure the behavior of SAP MI on the mobile device.
