Configuring the Integration Engine
Before you can use the Integration Engine, you must first configure it for the existing system landscape, depending on the integration processes involved.
You have called the transaction Integration Engine – Administration (SXMB_ADM) and are on the Integration Engine: Administration screen.
The Integration Engine: Administration screen has a menu consisting of two areas: Administration and Configuration.
Both areas mainly apply to system administrators. They are used to set up the system to process XML messages. This enables you to make changes to SAP default settings and configure test settings.
The following functions are available to help you configure an Integration Engine:
● Configure event-driven message processing
● Define filters for queue prioritization
● Define sender/receiver IDs
● Display/change global and specific configuration data
● Define interfaces and retention periods for archiving XML messages
● Define the procedure for deleting XML messages
● Display pipeline definitions
● Configure principal propagation
You also have the following administration options:
● Manage queues
● Schedule jobs for archiving and deleting
● Migrate archive administration data
● Make settings for error analysis
You cannot execute
options in the menu that have the locked symbol (
), because you do not have the required
authorization.
The authorizations for the individual functions are tailored to requirements and are assigned as derivations of the composite role SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR. They are all based on the authorization object S_XMB_AUTH.
Once you have configured your Integration Engine, it can be called by an XML-enabled application, for example using an outbound interface of proxy generation.
