Procedure documentation Inserting a Package into a Process Chain Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

If you want a Reporting Agent scheduling package to be executed automatically, you can insert this application process into the run of a Structure linkProcess Chain .

Prerequisites

You have assigned one or more Reporting Agent settings to a scheduling package.

Procedure

...

       1.      Call up the process chain maintenance.

Within the Reporting Agent function area of the Administrator Workbench, from the symbol toolbar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Process Chain Maintenance. The Process Chain Maintenance Planning View screen appears.

       2.      In the left-hand screen area of the required This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Display Component, navigate to the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text process chain in which you want to insert the Reporting Agent process. Double-click to select it. The system displays the process chain planning view in the right-hand side of the screen.

If no suitable process chain is available, you need to create a new process chain. You can find additional information under Structure linkCreating a Process Chain.

       3.      To insert a Reporting Agent process, in the left-hand screen area, choose  This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Process Types. The system now displays the process categories that are available.

       4.      Use Drag&Drop to insert the required application process type into the process chain. The dialog box for inserting a process variant appears.

       5.      In the Process Variants field, enter the name of the application process you want to insert into the process chain. A value help is available, which lists all process variants that have already been created.

Choose  This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Create if you want to create a new process variant. A dialog box appears, in which you can enter a description for your application process.

Enter the description for your application process and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Next. A process maintenance screen appears for your application process. In the upper screen area, the system displays the following information for the variant:

-         Technical name

-         Description (You can make an entry in this field)

-         Last Changed by

-         Last changed on

The lower area, Reporting Agent Package, is used to display and enter the configuration of the respective application process.  

-         Application process type

-         This graphic is explained in the accompanying text  You can make an entry in this field

Enter the name of the Reporting Agent scheduling package you want to insert into the process chain as an application process. Input help is available. Save your entries.

-         After saving, the system displays the description of the chosen scheduling package and, in the Reporting Agent Setting area, the Reporting Agent setting components with the last changed date.

       6.      Go back. The Process Chain Maintenance Planning View screen appears.

Result

You have inserted the selected Reporting Agent scheduling package into a process chain.
