Measuring System Performance on the Mobile
Device
If performance problems occur when you using SAP MI on the mobile device, you can temporarily log all the relevant activities on the mobile device in a performance trace.

Only activate this option if you are experiencing problems, and only do so for a short period of time since logging all activities requires a large amount of storage capacity.
To measure the system performance, the following steps must be performed:
...
1. The user of the mobile device activates the performance trace on the mobile device.
2. Define the measuring point for the performance trace (see Parameters for Tracing).
The system logs the activities on the mobile device.
3. The user of the mobile device repeats problematical activities.
4. The user of the mobile device deactivates the performance trace on the mobile device.
The system closes the log file.
5. The user of the mobile device sends the log file to the server.
6. The administrator analyzes the log file.
...
1. Ask the user of the mobile device to perform the steps listed under Measuring System Performance.
2.
Open the file in
the J2EE Log Viewer and use the tools offered there to analyze the file, see
Log
Viewer.

Performance problems on Windows Mobile devices can be caused by the size of the temporary Internet files. For information on how to resolve this problem, see Note 851831.
