Configuration iView |
Description |
Configure Content Templates for Extensions |
SAP delivers CM content as a template for initial content in CM iViews, for example, document templates, banner texts, and so on, in CM folders, for which the access paths are defined here. When you create
new rooms, the system copies the initial content to the folders for the
iViews. This applies for some of the |

Configure Content Stores for Rooms |
Content stores are predefined folders for storing data (documents, messages, and so on) from rooms.
The technology of the content stores is obsolete and is only valid for room templates from previous releases. Folders are exclusively defined using extensions in newer templates. |
Configure Room Categories |
The room categories allow you to filter (select) rooms, for example in the room directory or room administration. During the creation process, each room is assigned to at least one room category. You can edit the room categories delivered and create new ones. |
Configure Room Part Categories |
The room part categories allow you to filter the list of available room part templates. When creating a room part template, the user can assign several (at least one) room part categories to the room part template. You can edit the room part categories delivered and create new ones. |
Configure Room Relationship Types |
In each room, the owner can use the access permission for the room relationship manager to define relationships to related rooms. Each relationship between the room and another room can be classified by assignment of a relationship type. SAP delivers a list of relationship types that you can edit in this iView. |
Configure Room Extensions |
The configuration iView provides two classes: ● Extensions This contains
all available You can activate or deactivate the extensions. To do this, you launch the extension concerned for editing and set or remove the Active flag. ● Value Set Providers The value set providers that SAP delivers are contained here. A value set provider contains the possible entry values for extension parameters, for example, the permitted stores. You can activate or deactivate value set providers.
You should not deactivate the value set providers that SAP delivers. |
Configure E-Mails for Rooms |
When registering or deleting room members, the backend system automatically sends e-mails to the users in question. SAP delivers the following configuration objects in which the corresponding e-mail text (with a subject) are stored.
You can change the texts, but you cannot delete the existing configuration objects. ●
requestmembership ●
roominvitation ●
uninvite Multilingual texts: You can provide the texts in more than one language. To do this, duplicate each of the configuration objects named above and save the duplicate with the ending “_<language_ID>”, for example, roominvitation_de for German-speaking users. Translate the fixed parts of the text.
The language ID must match the ISO language code. These codes are written in lowercase and with two characters in accordance with ISO-639. You can find the language codes on the Internet, for example, using this link. The system takes
into account the configuration object that matches the language that currently
applies for the user. This is taken from the language settings in the user
master data, in the portal, and in the browser. Text syntax: HTML or plain text (without HTML tags); placeholders are written between % characters. The system replaces the placeholders with the appropriate values before sending the e-mails. You can use the following placeholders: ● %owner_firstname% (the owner’s first name) ● %owner_lastname% (the owner’s last name) ● %room_name% (room name) ● %room_desc% (room description) ● %room_link_ext% (Internet address of the room) ● %user_firstname% (the user’s first name) ● %user_lastname% (the user’s last name) ● %recipient_firstname% (the recipient’s first name) ● %recipient_lastname% (the recipient’s last name) ● %newline% (line break) |
Configure Backend Properties for Rooms |
To call rooms using Web addresses (URLs), you need to specify the backend properties (the address and port of the backend server for rooms and the Web protocol used). This setting is part of the basic configuration but must be modified if you implement a new backend system. Automatic Sending of E-MailsIn the backend system settings for rooms, you can specify whether the system should automatically send e-mails in the following cases: ● A user is registered as a member of the room (invitation e-mail to the user). ● A user is deleted as a member of the room (notification e-mail to the user). ● A room is deleted (notification e-mail to all users). The standard setting of the Automatically Send Mails parameter is Yes. To prevent the system sending e-mails automatically, you choose No. |
