Modifying Manager or Service
Properties
This procedure enables you to change a particular service or manager properties. This means that those properties are valid only for the manager or service that is selected.
The properties displayed are divided into two sections:
· Global properties
These contain the global configuration settings for a particular manager or service that is valid for all cluster elements. These properties contain custom and default values that cannot be changed. If you try to set a new value for one of these properties, then this property is added to the local properties list.
However, if you want to change the value of a global property and make it valid for all elements, then select Global dispatcher configuration or Global server configuration from the tree structure and make the changes in these modules.

Bear in mind that in this way, you will set the value for all elements and it will be valid only if there is not a local value for this property. The local properties overwrite the global properties.
· Local properties
During installation time some of the global properties are changed and configured for each cluster element that is created. Changing the global properties enables you to create local settings for a particular cluster element. The local properties also contain custom and default values. The default values come with the installation of the J2EE system and cannot be changed as the custom settings are obtained through changing the default global properties or adding new properties.
From the tree structure on the left-hand side, select a manager or service for which you want to modify the properties.
