Use

After installing the Collaboration component in SAP NetWeaver, you need to complete a number of configuration steps in order to fully implement Real-Time Collaboration (RTC) in the portal. RTC provides both application sharing and instant messaging in the portal.

 

Process Flow

       1.      Configuring the polling mechanism settings. See Configuring the Polling Mechanism. This configuration is a mandatory prerequisite for both application sharing and instant messaging.

       2.      Configuring the Application Sharing server. See Structure linkConfiguring the Application Sharing Server (RTC). Configure the Application Sharing server only if you intend to use the application sharing functionality of Real-Time Collaboration.

Note

If you do not intend to use application sharing functionality, it is recommended to disable the Application Sharing server. See Structure linkEnabling / Disabling the Application Sharing Server (RTC).

       3.      Configure the maximum number of concurrent application sharing and instant messaging sessions permitted to run. See Structure linkConfiguring Maximum Numbers of Sessions and Users Allowed.

       4.      Configure the maximum number numbers of users permitted per session. See Structure linkConfiguring Maximum Numbers of Sessions and Users Allowed.
