Prerequisites

You have used the maintenance view V_RSSOURSYSTEM for the logical system to maintain the system class (EBP, for example), the system release, and also the LCR (Landscape and component repository) System ID.

Use

The DataSource "Communication ID – Master Data" enables

·         unique identification of the source system and

·         composition of the consolidated InfoObjects (assignment of source system-specific keys).

The DataSource is used in the XI environment for extraction of the LCR (Landscape and component repository) System ID, the BW source system ID, and also for the extraction of the system class and the system release into the InfoObject Communication ID. This information is then transferred to the master data of the communication ID.

This DataSource has no significance in the MarketSet environment.
