Configuring the SAP Web AS (Java)
Even if you performed extensive basic configuration after installing the SAP Web AS (Java), you must occasionally make additional adjustments to a running Java system.
The most important indicators that a change to the configuration is required are the error messages and values in the Monitor Service of the Visual Administrator. Alerts for all services and managers of the cluster are displayed here, for example, insufficient pool or queue sizes, timeouts, and memory problems.
The log files displayed in the Log Viewer can be an additional information source for required “tuning”.

If you have a SAP system landscape with a central ABAP system, you should
install an agent and set up alerts from the Java system to the central system.
For more information about this, see
Alert Monitoring of
the J2EE Engine Using the CCMS.
In either the Visual Administrator or the Config tool, choose the relevant
manager or services, and make the changes. For more information about the
displayed data from the managers and services, see the reference manual under
Monitored
Data. For information about the managers and services themselves, see the
administration manual under
SAP J2EE Engine
Administration.
