Activating Monitoring for Nodes and
Servers 
A data collection method only queries the status of a communication component if you have marked the corresponding node in the SAP system as ready to be queried by the data collection method. Therefore, you have to assign this attribute to every SAPconnect node and every telephony server that represents an external communication component that is to be monitored by the alert monitor.
Note that the methods always query all the nodes that you have assigned this attribute to, regardless of whether the communication system represented by the node actually supports the query.
Only carry out the procedure for nodes and servers that represent communication systems or telephony software that the alert monitor supports.
