Setting Variable Target Currency in the Query Designer 

Prerequisites

You have created a currency translation type. You have selected the Selection of Target Currency with Translation option on the Target Currency tab page in this translation type.

Procedure

       1.      You are in the Query Designer. Choose Properties from the context menu of your amount key figure.

       2.      Select your translation type under Currency Translation.

       3.      Select the Variables Entry field and choose New Variable. The variables wizard appears. Also see, Defining Variables with the Variables Wizard .

       4.      Enter a Variable Name and a Description for the variable.

       5.      In the Processing by field, choose the processing type User Entry/Default Value. The Currency characteristic (0CURRENCY) is the default.

       6.      Choose Continue to reach the Details screen.   Here you decide how the entry is to appear. The following can be selected:

¡        optional

¡        mandatory

¡        mandatory, initial values not permitted

This field is ready for input by default.

       7.      Choose Continue to assign a default value for the variable.

       8.      Choose Continue to get a summary of the properties of the variables. Choose Exit to save the variable and be able to use it in the query.

Result

When the query is executed, the system gets the variables for the target currency.
