Installing SAP MI on the Mobile
Device
As an administrator, you can install SAP MI on a mobile device in several different ways:
● If the mobile device has an Internet or network connection, you can download the installation file using a URL and install it directly using an assistant. For more information, see Installing the SAP MI Client Using a URL.
This type of installation can also be done by the user.
If you do not want to use the assistant for the installation, you can use the parameters provided to start the installation file. See Parameters for Installation on the Mobile Device.
● If you want to install SAP MI on several Compact Flash Cards, you have a number of options for single- and mass installations. See Installing the SAP MI Client Component on the Compact Flash Card for more information.
After the installation has been completed, the user of the mobile device must start SAP MI, and where necessary, create a user and log on (for more information, see Starting SAP MI, Creating a User, Logging On to SAP MI). To make sure the device can synchronize the user must edit the settings (if the installation is not already configured accordingly). For more information, see Editing User Settings.
The user must then synchronize once or twice (depending on the type of installation used) to load all the applications and data onto the mobile (see Synchronizing for the First Time).
