Background documentation Support Packages and Patches Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

SAP ships quality enhancements, program corrections and updates in Support Packages. To solve smaller problems, you can use individual corrections, known as single patches. You implement these corrections from SAP Notes.

Support Packages are available on the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/patches.

In this area, you can find information on the availability of Support Package Stacks. These are collections of Support Packages for a product version, tested by SAP and recommended for import. For more information on Support Package Stacks, see service.sap.com/sp-stacks.

You use the following tools to import Support Packages:

·        For Support Packages and patches for SAP J2EE Engine, use the tool SAPinst.

·        For Support Packages and patches for the applications, use the tools Software Development Manager (SDM) or SAPinst, depending on the application.
