User Concepts
When a client (Web browser) connects with the SAP Web Application Server (by URL call), the logon is completed in the underlying SAP System.
The
section
Logging On To SAP Web
Application Server describes the procedure involved and how it can be set
up.
We distinguish between different concepts here:
· Using a Default User for BSP Applications
· Using a Default Internet User for BSP Applications

You can also let a BSP application run under the public user and switch to an already known User ID later. You can find further information about this type of delayed logon in Note 429165 (User Switch (Delayed Logon) in the HTTP Framework).
Logging onto BSP Applications and System Logon explain how you can use a logon screen in your own BSP application without using Basic Authentication, and how you can adjust this screen individually.

The system logon functionality is available from SAP Web AS 6.40 SP2 in addition to the previous procedure that was available for logging onto BSP applications. For new Web applications, it is recommended that you use the new system logon.
