Basic Configuration 
After completion of the installation, basic configuration allows you to prepare the system for use. The basic configuration allows you to use the system with the predefined content delivered, for example, for test purposes.
To tailor the system to the requirements of your company, perform the system configuration for the individual components.
To perform basic configuration on the installed system, work through the following steps:

SAP delivers predefined portal roles, which give portal users permission for administrating and using functions in the Collaboration component. |

In order to make collaboration services available for the names displayed in the Collaboration menu of the Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP) and the room member list or in the context menu, assign the preconfigured groups of services to the respective purpose. |

To prepare the tool area of the masthead for collaboration, activate the following properties: · Collaboration Link, through which the CLP is launched in the masthead · Standard services for Real-Time Collaboration (Instant Messaging, Application Sharing) |

To allow launching of rooms through links (URLs), define the properties of the respective backend system. |

Banner documents belong to the predefined CM content for the room templates that SAP delivers. These include, for example, titles and subtitles of the iViews, which the user can change. |

To make available the e-mail and scheduling functions of the groupware used in your company, you configure the groupware framework. |

Configuring service types in the Synchronous Collaboration Framework |
In order to use synchronous collaboration services (RTC, WebEx) in the portal, you activate these service types in the Synchronous Collaboration Framework. |
In order to be able to use the real-time services Instant Messaging and Application Sharing in the portal, you define the properties for Real-Time Collaboration. |
