Archive PI Sheets and Work Instructions 

Use

You can archive PI sheets and work instructions online with or without a preselection. You can also carry out the archiving using a background job.

Procedure

Archiving PI Sheets and Work Instructions

...

       1.      To be archive PI sheets, choose Logistics → Production - Process →  Process Management → PI Sheet → Archiving from the SAP Easy Access menu.

To archive work instructions, choose Logistics → Production → Shop Floor Control → Process Integration → Work Instructions → Archiving from the SAP Easy Access menu.

The initial screen Archiving of PI Sheets and Work Instructions appears.

       2.      On the initial screen, choose the Archive Objects option. Then choose Execute.

The Optical Archiving of PI Sheets/Work Instructions screen appears.

       3.      Enter the selection criteria for the PI sheets or work instructions that you want to archive.

       4.      Set the Direct Archiving Without Preselection (ALV Grid Result List)  indicator and choose Execute.

The system then immediately archives the selected PI sheets or work instructions.

       5.      If you carry out the archiving without setting the Direct Archiving Without Preselection (ALV Grid Result List) indicator, the system first creates a result list with the selected PI sheets or work instructions. In this case, you must select the PI sheets or work instructions you want to archive from the list and then choose the Archive Selection pushbutton.

The system then archives the selected objects and displays a log for the archiving.

Archiving with Background Job

...

       1.      To carry out the deletion as a background job, choose the Delete Objects with Background Job option on the initial screen of the archiving transaction. Then choose Execute.

The initial screen Execution of Report in Background appears. The report RCOPOC_ARCHIVE_PROD_INST has already been entered in the Report Name field.

       2.      Create a report variant. In this variant, set the Direct Archiving Without Preselection (ALVGrid Result List) indicator.

If you do not set the Direct Archiving Without Preselection (ALV Grid Result List) indicator, the execution of the background job is terminated. The log of the job contains an entry referring to the unset indicator.

       3.      Schedule your statistics run as a background run.

Result

After the archiving, you can delete the database content of the archived objects. More information: Delete Archived PI Sheets and Work Instructions
