Preparing the Sample Data and MDM Server 

Use

Before you start the business partner master data flow you must make some preparations.

First you store the sample data, that is the MDM repository and the import XML file, in the right place. Then you mount and start your MDM Server.

Prerequisites

●      You installed and set up the MDM components and the database as described in the installation guide.

●      You downloaded the tutorial sample data from the SAP Service Marketplace.

Procedure

Prepare the sample data

       1.      Unzip the MDM Tutorial Sample Data.zip file.

       2.      Copy the sample MDM repository archive (MDM_Business_Partner_Tutorial.a2a) to the Archives folder, which you can find on the machine on which you installed the MDM Console under the following path:

<Local drive> ® Program Files ® SAP MDM 5.5 ® Server ® Archives

       3.      Store the Business_Partners_from_CRM.xml file anywhere on your local drive for later use.

Start the MDM Server

...

       1.      Start the MDM Console.

       2.      In the Console Hierarchy pane in the context menu of SAP MDM Servers choose Mount MDM Server.

       3.      In the dialog select or enter your MDM Server.

The server appears in the Console Hierarchy pane and in the MDM Servers list.

       4.      In the context menu of your MDM Server choose Start MDM Server.

The start process may take a few minutes. Wait until the server has the status Running.
