Processing of Error Packets and Error
Groups
You can use this function to process error packets and error groups in the error handling service (ERH).
...
ERH supports you when you are processing errors that occur during loading and distribution processes. ERH runs in the following phases:
1. In the first phase of error handling, ERH does automatic error assignment. In doing this, ERH collects and analyses information about the errors. It groups the errors in packets, and distributes them in a workflow to the processors responsible.
2. In the second phase of error handling, there follows manual error processing. Here, you examine the prepared error information, and correct the errors if possible. This function is part of error processing.
...
1. In the master data exchange, an error occurred that stopped a process chain. Consequently, the system has started ERH.
2. ERH has completed automatic error assignment, and started the ERH Workflow.
3. You have received an ERH task in your central worklist, and opened the attachment. This takes you to the user interface (UI) for ERH.

You do not need the search function in the upper screen area for this application. Because of the error assignment, ERH automatically displays the correct error packet. |
Error packet and error groups |
Here you see the error packet and the error groups contained within. The following attributes of the error group are displayed: · The Initiating Object specifies the identification (ID) of the business object that was involved in causing the errors in the error group. If the initiating object is not a business object, but the system, the ID of the error group is displayed here. · The Initiating-Object Type specifies the type of business object that was involved in causing the errors in the error group. If the initiating object is not a business object, but the system, the System is displayed here. You can execute the following functions: · You can keep the processing status (Status) of the error packet and the error groups contained within.
The status of the error packet adjusts automatically to the status of the error groups contained within. If all groups have the same status, the packet also gets this status. If the groups have different statuses, the packet gets the status In Process. You can change an automatically-set status at any time. · You can save the statuses of error packets, error groups, and separate error messages. · Once you have processed all the errors in a packet, you can complete processing. The ERH workflow transfers the error packet, and executes further steps (for example, delete task from central worklist).
You can complete processing only if the error packet has the status Completed. If you select an error group, Detail Area 1 opens with the individual error messages for each error group. |
