Using the report variant analysis or conversion, you can determine and adjust the information about reports and their variants that is relevant for a transformation solution.
Example
For a company code deletion, the values in the report variant are deleted in accordance with the mapping schema and according to the conversion rules.
You are using the SAP Landscape Transformation
solution.
You have discussed the concept and process as well as requirements of the documentation with your auditor.
You have set up and saved the system environment of the analysis.
An RFC connection exists between the sender and receiver system.
You must have created a project.
You have assigned a project template to the project.
You have created a project execution plan.
You can use the report variant analysis or conversion within a conversion project or independently of it (standalone).
The determination of relevant report variants occurs in two steps:
Analysis of existing reports that contain at least one variant. For every report variant determined, the analysis checks whether possible dependencies for a transformation solution exist.
Analysis of report variants in detail: For report variants that cannot be clearly identified as relevant for a transformation solution, a more precise analysis occurs on the basis of the values defined in the report variants.
The conversion of relevant report variants occurs in three steps:
The examination of variants to be converted for changes since the determination step
Performing the conversion
Display the conversion results and manual adjustment
To perform the analysis, proceed as follows:
You are in the project execution plan. From here, select the access to the analysis.
Choose Prepare
. The system prepares the data for execution.
To go to the next phase of the execution, choose Next
.
Choose Run Analysis in Backend System
.
Execute the steps required for the analysis in the backend system.
Return to the work center view.
Choose Next
and then Execute
.
Choose Transmit Results
.
Choose Display Result List in the Backend
. The system formats the data and displays it in a separate window.
Note
In addition to the XML result list, you can also have a result list formatted in Word or HTML. To do so, store the corresponding information in the project execution plan. Then choose Generate Result List
again, and then Display Result
.
If you want to display the result directly in the backend system, choose Display Backend Results
.
