Function documentation Specify Update Behavior for Views Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can specify how date fields and time fields in selection variants are to behave when views are updated.

Features

The Clinical Work Station distinguishes two different behaviors of time fields in all view types:

Behavior

Example

System should constantly update date/time

Occupancy date/time in Occupancy views:

In this case, when the list is updated, the date/time should always be realigned with the system time.

System should not update date/time

Arrival status is always from 00:01 a.m. to current time on current day:

In this case, behavior is exactly the opposite: when you continually work with the view, there is no realignment with the system time.

Activities

System administrators and users employ settings and interactions to specify whether the system should update a date or time field in the Clinical Work Station.

Example

User:

If you set the day/time to the previous day by choosing Change Selection, the system assumes that this value is to remain constant in the Clinical Work Station.

If you wish to revert to the preset value, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Defaults. This causes the system to read the selection variant and the layout from the default settings, and then apply them.

System Administrator:

For date fields, the selection variable tool lets you calculate a date in relation to the system date/time. The Clinical Work Station always calculates the date from the selection variables.

However, if you enter a specific value in a date field, this value remains unchanged as the selection date.

If the system administrator assigns the value 00:00:00 in a time field, the system will constantly update this time field. (Exceptions are time intervals such as in the IS-H*MED view types Requests or Documents (from 00:00 to 23:59). The system doesn’t realign time intervals with the system date/time.
