Use

You maintain the DRG-relevant diagnoses on the Diagnoses tab page.

Features

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The table columns correspond to the fields you are familiar with from the transactions for maintaining diagnoses and procedures.

In addition, you'll find the following DRG-specific columns:

·        DRG Diagnosis Category: Specifies the category of the diagnosis in relation to the DRG. You can choose from the following attributes:

¡        Principal diagnosis

¡        Secondary diagnosis

¡        No DRG diagnosis

When you specify a category for a diagnosis, the system takes this diagnosis into account for the data exchange with the DRG grouper. By default, the system assigns the category Secondary diagnosis to all diagnoses. You must flag one diagnosis as the principal diagnosis.

·        DRG relevant: The DRG grouper sets this indicator. The indicator shows that the system used the diagnosis in question to determine the DRGs. This indicator is set only if the DRG grouper you use returns this information.

·        Complication Level: This value (from 0 to 4) identifies a secondary diagnoses as an accompanying illness and applies only to secondary diagnoses. The external DRG grouper can fill this value if a secondary diagnosis was relevant for calculating the severity of illness.

The Change Documents function is available to you in the Goto menu. For example, when you position the cursor on the Diagnosis field, and choose Goto ® Change Documents, the system displays the change documents pertaining to the selected diagnosis.
