Additional Steps for Creating or Changing Function Variants

...

       1.      The Create or Change Function Variant <Name> screen appears.

A predefined set of functions is available based on the view type from which you call function variant maintenance. You can now create a specific function variant from this list of functions for the relevant view.

       2.      The following functions can be used for creating the function variant:

·         This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Pushbutton: Create function as pushbutton

·         This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Function: Create function in the drop-down menu of a pushbutton

·         This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Separator: Inserts a separator between pushbuttons/functions

       3.      On the right half of the screen you can see the function variants displayed in a tree structure (with all defined function attributes), and also as a pushbutton bar. This gives you control over how the function variants will be displayed in the Care Unit Work Station.

       4.      Select the position in the displayed function variant where you want to insert the new function.

If there are not yet any functions in the variant, the new function is automatically inserted in the first position.

       5.      Select the required function in the function list, and then choose either This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Pushbutton or This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Function. A pushbutton or a function in the drop-down menu is inserted in the position you selected earlier in the function variant.

       6.      You edit the function attributes by double-clicking on the function you’ve just inserted in the function variant. You can change the pushbutton/function text, assign a different icon, or change the help text shown. You can also enter a quick info. In the field to the right of the Quick Info field, you can assign function keys from CTRL+F1to CTRL+F12 from the value help.  You have to confirm these changes by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Caution

Pushbuttons must have an icon.

       7.      In addition, you can assign exactly one function the attribute Double-click. This means that in the corresponding view, a double-click on a line (a certain patient, for example) calls this function. Confirm these changes with Ok.

Note

Drag & Drop lets you rearrange functions and pushbuttons within the function variant.

       8.      When you exit function variant processing, the system prompts you to save your changes. When you select a name, ensure that it is not a name reserved by SAP (“S*”).

Result

The function variant you have changed is available in the views to which it is assigned.
