Use

The DRG Data tab page in the DRG work station contains the DRG-related data without the diagnoses and procedures.

The function bar makes the following functions available to you:

·        If you have set up synchronous data transfer in Customizing for SAP Patient Management, the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Group function is available to you. SAP Patient Management calls the DRG grouper, and transfers the data that is relevant for determining the DRG. The DRG grouper returns the result of the grouping immediately to SAP Patient Management.

If the medical status no longer permits changes to the DRG data, the system does not allow the DRG data to be entered or modified, and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Group is not available.

·        If you have set up asynchronous data transfer in Customizing for SAP Patient Management, the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Export DRG Data and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Import DRG Data functions are available to you.

¡        Whenever you execute the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Export DRG Data function, SAP Patient Management transfers the data that is relevant for determining the DRG to the DRG grouper. Prior to exporting, the system prompts you to save your entries should you have made changes.

¡        Whenever you execute the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Import DRG Data function, SAP Patient Management imports the data generated by the DRG grouper. Prior to importing, the system warns you that it will overwrite the existing data (DRG, diagnoses and procedures) in SAP Patient Management.

Under Diagnosis Related Groups on the DRG Data tab page, you find the results of the grouping that that DRG grouper has generated and transferred to SAP Patient Management:

·        DRG Code: Contains the DRG code for the selected case. This code should feature in the DRG catalog you defined. The text for the code returned by the DRG grouper is output to the right of the DRG Code field.

·        MDC Code: This field contains the MDC code for the selected case.

·        DRG Catalog: The DRG grouper shows the catalog to which the DRG belongs in this field. This should be the catalog you entered in Customizing for SAP Patient Management under Define Parameters for Diagnosis Documentation.

·        MDC Catalog: The system shows the MDC catalog in this field. This should be the catalog you entered in Customizing for SAP Patient Management under Define Parameters for Diagnosis Documentation.

·        Severity of Illness: The DRG grouper shows the value for the severity of illness in this field.

·        Cost Weight: The DRG grouper shows the cost weight of the DRG in this field.

·        Coding Info.: This field contains user-specific information pertaining to the coding process. By default, the system displays the identification of the external DRG grouper that performed the coding.

·        Coded On: This field contains the date at which the DRG was determined. The DRG grouper transmits this date during the data import.

·        Regrouping Advised: This indicator designates that DRG regrouping is advised since this DRG could have changed. The system automatically sets this indicator if you have modified procedure and diagnosis data.

·        Risk of Mortality (ROM): This field is relevant for the country version Singapore only. In this field, you select a value for the risk of mortality by choosing  This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

·        You can cancel the DRG data if it was saved in the database by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. If canceled DRG data exists, the Canceled pushbutton is active. Clicking on this pushbutton takes you into an overview of the canceled DRG data.

In the Case Data group box, enter the case data relevant for determining the DRG that SAP Patient Management transmits to the DRG grouper upon grouping or exporting data.

·        Weight: Specify the weight of the patient at admission in this field.

·        Mechanical Ventilation Duration: In this field, specify the number of hours mechanical ventilation was required during the treatment.

The Other Data group box contains fields for entering case and movement data.

The Change Documents function is available to you in the Goto menu. For example, when you position the cursor on the DRG Code field, and choose Goto ® Change Documents, the system displays the change documents pertaining to the DRG data.
