Deletion of Views, Variants/Layouts and Work Environments
When you delete views, variants (selection variants and function variants), layouts, or work environments, the system reacts as follows:
If you choose the Delete function, the system checks the following:
If the result of this check is positive, only the reference is deleted; tother work environments and other users are not affected by the deletion.
In contrast, if the object is not used in other work environments or other views, the system issues the following prompt: Do you want to delete <the work environment/ the view/ the variant>?
You can cancel (not delete) the object, and re-use it at a later time. If you respond to the prompt by choosing Assignment, the system deletes the assignment to the view/work environment. If not, the object is physically deleted.

You can delete selection variants by using the standard maintenance function for selection variants. In this function, no check is executeed for variant management objects. This means that the selection variant will be deleted, although it is used in other views.

It is not possible to delete standard views/variants/work environments/layouts.
