Definition
When carrying out
patient assignment, you can use identifiers as well as identification keys to specify the required organizational units (OUs) and building units.Identifiers of organizational units must be unique with respect to the higher-level organizational units in the organizational hierarchy. Identifiers of building units must only be unique with respect to the higher-level organizational unit or building unit.
To be able to use the identifiers in the patient assignment function, you have to create an identifier hierarchy with reference to the higher-level units. Within the hierarchy, an identifier explicitly designates one organizational unit or building unit.
Use
You create the identifier hierarchy by setting up the identifiers of the organizational or building structures after you have released these structures. Here the system checks whether the identifiers used at one level of the hierarchy are unique in relation to the higher-level organizational unit.
The check outputs a list which displays for each organizational unit and building unit the combination of identifiers which uniquely identifies the organizational unit or building unit. The system stores this list internally. It is used to identify organizational units and building units quickly if you use identifiers in the patient assignment.
If incorrect identifier names are assigned, the system outputs these at the end of the list.
