Procedure documentation Add. Data: Displaying and Delimiting Validity Intervals (Germany) Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Legal changes that intervene at the start of a new year increase the need for you to enter new charge factor values for existing flat rates per case and procedures surcharges. Since this may require a validity period with the charge factor values that were valid up to now to be retained, you must create a new validity interval for the latest charge factor values.

Procedure

Display the Data of the Different Validity Periods

  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Hospital ® Basic Data Administration ® Service Master Data ® Service ® Additional Data ® Special Charge Types.
  2. The overview (in table form) of the relevant services for which you have already maintained additional fields is displayed.

Instead of showing all of the validity periods of the relevant services, the table only shows the interval that is valid on the day in question. If, however, you want to see all of the validity periods for services on the overview screen, you can select the relevant service, and expand or collapse the associated time intervals by choosing Expand <-> Collapse.

  3. To call a detail screen , choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. In the Validity periods group frame, you can select for which time interval that exists for the service you want to display the detail data by navigating to the relevant interval using This graphic is explained in the accompanying text This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. You can scroll through the existing time intervals without first having to return to the initial screen.

Procedure for Delimiting Validity with Example

The tabular overview of all services and the detail screen let you avail of the Delimit function to insert a new time interval into the interval currently selected, thus automatically delimiting the validity of the latter. Example validity period for the service FR2.02: 01/01/1998-12/31/9999

  1. Select the time interval.
  2. Choose Delimit. A dialog box appears prompting you to enter the start date of the time interval you want to insert, 01/01/1999, for example.
  3. Confirm your input with This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. A detail screen appears displaying by default the details of the validity period last selected.
  4. If necessary, you can modify these values, and confirm your input by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  5. You return to the initial screen by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Result

A new validity period has been inserted (01/01/1999 - 12/31/9999), and the validity of the previous period has been delimited (01/01/1998 - 12/31/1998).

If you chose Delimit on the detail screen, the new validity period is displayed in the Validity periods group box.

Note

You can now go ahead and edit the next service. The simplest way of doing this is to choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text on the detail screen.
