Process documentation Admission Capacity for Inpatient Admission Appointments Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

In relation to the planning object care unit, the admission capacity stipulates for which scheduling types the care unit offers possible admission appointments.

Prerequisites

To be able to use day-based scheduling of inpatient admission appointments, you need to have maintained the day and week programs and the assignment of the week programs to calendar weeks in the year overview.

You must have created the planning objects for the care units.

To be able to book inpatient admission appointments, you also need to have maintained inpatient scheduling types in Customizing for IS-H. For more information about this, refer to the section entitled Patient Management ® Scheduling ® Preregistration List and Waiting List Management ® Set Up Inpatient Scheduling Types in the IS-H Implementation Guide. On the basis of scheduling types and day programs, you define admission quotas that a care unit makes available to the departmental organizational units authorized to assign patients to its beds for preregistering patients.

Process Flow

  1. Call Maintenance of Admission Capacities
  2. You stipulate for which scheduling types a planning object (care unit) offers or disallows appointments for inpatient admissions in day programs. You can store as many day programs as you like for a planning object.
  3. For more information about this, see Creating Day Programs for a Care Unit.

  4. You create a week program from one or more day programs by assigning a day program to each of the days of the week of a particular calendar week. You can define as many week programs as you like for each planning object.
  5. For more information about this, see Creating Week Programs for a Care Unit.

  6. You assign week programs to calendar weeks. This assignment can be valid for the calendar weeks of one year or of several consecutive years.

For more information on this, see Assigning Week Programs to Calendar Weeks.
