Background documentation Configuring Tabs  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Data Fields are grouped into tabs on the GDS Item Maintenance and Item Details screens. Some of these tabs and fields are predefined and are viewed according to the role assigned to the user. These predefined tabs and fields are in accordance with the standards of the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). The SAP MDM GDS Console supports and is compliant with these GDSN standards for item information.

Additional user defined tabs can be configured in Application Configurations → UI Configuration depending if the role assigned gives permission for the user to configure the UI.

There are two types of tabs:

      Global Tabs

For global attributes of a trade item

Note

Global attributes are values of a product that are applicable to all target markets.

      Normal Tabs

For normal attributes of an item. Attributes that are relevant only to a specific target market

Note

These items have the same GTIN and same Information Provider but a different Target Market.

You can configure the GDS console user interface by defining new tabs, groups and fields according to the item data that is required.
