SAP ERP networks are integrated with SAP APO PP/DS to enable planning of their component requirements and capacity requirements in SAP APO PP/DS. After planning is executed in SAP APO, the network in SAP ERP is updated with the planning results from SAP APO.
You can also plan only component requirements in SAP APO and carry out capacity planning in SAP ERP. To do this, you implement Business Add-Ins. For more information, see Enhancements for the Integration of Project Orders/Networks.
The SAP ERP network is transferred to SAP APO. You can prepare the order structure only in SAP R/3 and it is then imported into SAP APO. The following data from a network is transferred from SAP ERP to SAP APO:
Header
Activities
In SAP APO, network activities are mapped as operations in a project order. Both terms are used synonymously in this document.
Relationships
Capacity requirements
Component requirements
Milestones are not transferred to SAP APO.
Caution
In SAP APO, you cannot change the project order structure of activities, relationships, and material components, but you can change the dates by carrying out scheduling. In SAP APO, you cannot delete project orders explicitly. Deletion of project orders in SAP APO is triggered by:
Deletion of the network in SAP ERP
Statuses for technical completion, completion, deletion, and deletion flag of the network in SAP ERP
The transfer of the same network to different SAP APO target systems is not supported.
The following functions support the integration of networks into SAP APO:
Generation of an integration model for networks
For more information, see Initial Data Transfer for Project Orders/Networks.
Initial data transfer
For more information, see Initial Data Transfer for Project Orders/Networks.
Change transfer and deletion
For more information, see Change Transfer and Deletion for Project Orders/Networks.
Transfer of order data triggered by delta report for comparison purposes
For more information, see Transfer to Compare Project Orders/Networks.
Refresh transfer of order triggered by error handling or delta report to update order data in SAP APO
For more information, see Refresh Transfer to Update Project Orders Networks.
Transfer of project order data back to SAP ERP
For more information, see Transfer of Project Orders to SAP R/3.
Business Add-Ins to enhance the integration possibilities of maintenance orders.
For more information, see Enhancements for the Integration of Project Orders/Networks.
The following settings are required to transfer networks to SAP APO:
An RFC connection exists between SAP ERP and SAP APO.
The relevant master data and transaction data is integrated with SAP APO.
An active integration model exists for networks.
