You use this report to collect locks and locking conflicts in a database table, from which you can create application logs. The lock monitor analyzes the reason and details of locking conflicts and checks the lock behavior of programs.
Display the application logs to view and analyze the following types of locks:
Planning object SAP liveCache lock (for the system to use the SAP liveCache lock, you must activate the SAP liveCache lock in planning area administration)
For more information about the SAP liveCache lock, see Locking in Demand Planning.
Administration lock (locks of SNP and DP administration tools, such as consistency check of the time series network, check of the SAP liveCache time series data, and so on.)
Locks on table /SAPAPO/TSQUEUE (SNP master data update)
You can choose from the following options when running this report:
Show application logs
Select the Show Application Logs radio button to display all the existing application logs of the specified planning area and planning version for the given period.
Every application log can consist of 2 messages. One shows all the acquired locks, the other one shows locking conflicts. You can display the details of the locks, such as the user, the program that created the lock, date and time of the lock, and so on.
You can also display the application logs with transaction SLG1.
Create application log
Select the Create Application Log radio button to store all the locks and unlocks of the defined planning area and planning version in an application log, and locks on table /SAPAPO/TSQUEUE. You need to store the locks and unlocks in application logs to be able to display and analyze them later.
Switch monitoring on or off
You can start collecting locks by switching on the lock monitor with the following options:
Select the On radio button to collect the locks and unlocks of the specified planning area and planning version.
Select the On (With Details) radio button to collect the locks and unlocks of the specified planning area and planning version, as well as the selection used for locking.
Select the Off radio button to stop monitoring the locks for the selected planning area and planning version, and to save the collected events into the application log .
Note
The activation of the monitor is performance-intensive, and can cause your system to slow down.
Choose the Show Active Monitoring pushbutton to list all the active monitors in the system.
On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose
, or .Specify the planning area and planning version for which you want to collect and analyze locks.
Note
Locks on table /SAPAPO/TSQUEUE do not belong to a planning area and planning version.
