On the initial screen of SM56 (see also Administration of the Number Range Buffer) you can see the buffer times and server times under the statistics. This shows the number of access and their duration. Here you can also identify any possible problems or bottlenecks.

Provided only small numbers are shown on the right-hand side, everything is working correctly. If there are a lot of entries on right-hand side (in the column with >=), you probably have too many server calls. You can solve this by increasing the numbers in the buffer.

Unfortunately you cannot tell from these numbers which intervals are causing the problems. You must then proceed heuristically with the analysis. You can run an SQL trace on the server to trace only accesses to table NRIV. In the trace you can identify for which number range interval the database must often be accessed. For the associated number range interval object you can then increase the number of numbers in the buffer in SNRO (see Maintain Number Ranges).
