Global Assignment Details (0710)
In this infotype, which is maintained during the assignment preparation phase in the host country by means of personnel action 81 before any other MGE-specific infotypes, you store all the key information with regard to global assignments within your company.
Note
When you try to maintain the infotypes for Management of Global Employees sequentially and start with infotype Documents (0702), an error message is displayed.
This infotype enables you to define the assignment characteristics that will guide you through the subsequent steps of the global assignment process.
The infotype is split into three sections described below:
· Future assignment details
· Assignment attributes
· Current assignment details
In this section, you can specify whether:
·
The
assignment is a short-term or long-term assignment, the former corresponding
to a duration of up to 183 days, the latter to a duration of up to 5 years. Of
course, you are free to customize the duration.
The infotype record start and end dates do not necessarily have to correspond
to the start and end dates of the assignment. Indeed, you could split a
one-year assignment as follows: the first period valid for a duration of six
months, during which your wife accompanies you; the second period, also valid
six months, at the beginning of which the global employee’s partner
and/or children have returned home.
·
The global
employee’s dependant(s) stored in infotype Family/Related Person (0021) are allowed to join him/her.
Both assignment type and family status have a direct impact on the preparation
of the compensation package stored in infotype Compensation Package
Offer (0706): short-term project-oriented assignments are usually subject
to other conditions than long-term ones and the processor may include special
allowances for housing or schooling if the global employee's dependant(s) are
allowed to join him/her, depending on the country and on the company transfer
policy.
Furthermore, you can
specify the following processor-relevant information:
·
Promotion on
transfer
If the global employee moves a level higher on accepting the assignment,
he/she is very likely to be offered better salary conditions. Consequently,
this information is essential to infotype Compensation Package
Offer (0706). By means of this field, you can inform the HR department of
any change in salary to avoid a second increase following the assignment
period.
·
Administrator
group
The administrator group is used in combination with the International
administrator and refers to the group the employee of the international HR
department in charge of the assignment process belongs to. The default value
is set by means of feature INTAD.
·
International
administrator
The international administrator refers to the employee of the international HR
department in charge of the assignment process and belonging to the
above-mentioned group.
·
Career
sponsor
The career sponsor refers to the home or host-based manager, who normally acts
as a contact person for the global employee during the assignment period.
He/she may also be responsible for finding a suitable position for the global
employee after his/her repatriation.
In this section, you can specify the employment percentage valid for the assignment period.
In this section, you maintain the various personnel numbers used by the global employee during his assignment.
The fields of this infotype can be entirely customized to meet your company-specific needs. For more information, see the following IMG activities under the section Assignment Master Data:
