Use
You use the consolidation monitor to run the activities for consolidating financial statement data.
Prerequisites
In the Implementation Guide, you have defined the task group along with its tasks for the consolidation monitor, and you have assigned the task group to the dimension.
In addition you have assigned one task group to one consolidation group or to several consolidation groups of the dimension, which includes a partial quantity of task groups. When you enter the consolidation group in the
global parameters then the consolidation monitor only shows this consolidation group (perhaps with subordinated consolidation groups) and the tasks of the consolidation group dependent task group.

The consolidation monitor has essentially the same features as the
Data Monitor. For this reason, the following will only describe the differences.Monitor Layout

Organizational Units
In the consolidation monitor, the hierarchy of organizational units is only broken down to the consolidation group level. This implies that the consolidation monitor executes tasks for consolidation groups. You also have the option of running tasks directly in the SAP menu, area Consolidation (without using the monitor). The initial screen also allows you to select consolidation units.
Tasks
By contrast with the data monitor, the consolidation monitor requires only a few specific task sequences. The most important requirement is that the task Validation of consolidated financial data be run after the consolidation tasks that do postings (such as, interunit elimination). The sequence of the other tasks can be defined in Customizing, particularly taking into consideration the postings that build on top of other postings.
Status Management
The consolidation monitor features the additional Overall Status:

All data monitor tasks must be blocked before you can run a task in update run in the consolidation monitor.
