The RFC destination (Remote Function Call) represents the logical connection between the SAP system and the Galileo Gateway. The RFC calls are channeled through the SAP Gateway. The SAP Gateway communicates in turn with the Galileo Gateway.

The tasks of Galileo XML Select are identification and the authorization check. It also controls access to the Galileo central system. Galileo XML Select and the Galileo central system communicate through TCP/IP using proprietary protocols.
