Creating Multiple Specifications in a New
Inspection Plan 
You can only create multiple specifications in an inspection plan using the Engineering Workbench (EWB). This procedure assumes that you:
· Have performed the necessary steps in Customizing for quality planning (Inspection Planning ® General ® Multiple Specifications)and activated the functions for multiple specifications at client level (otherwise the fields for multiple specifications in the Engineering Workbench are hidden)
· Have previously worked with the Engineering Workbench and defined a default working area. If this is not the case, refer to the following documentation before proceeding further:

1. Choose Logistics ® Quality Management ® Quality Planning ® Inspection Planning ® Inspection Plan ® Workbench.

The screen that appears depends on the default working area you previously defined in an earlier session of the Engineering Workbench.
2. On the selection screen, enter the material, plant, and task list type; then choose the desired plan level in the menu.

As a prerequisite to the following steps, you must have created an inspection plan containing header data, operations, and inspection characteristics.
3. To create multiple specifications, choose Task Lists ® Headers.
The overview screen for the task list headers appears.
4. If the inspection plan is called up in the display mode, select the desired inspection plan and choose Change/Lock.
5. In the header of the desired plan (Detail Screen ® Additional Data), set the Multiple Specifications indicator.
6. Select the desired inspection plan and choose Task Lists ® Material-Task List Assignments.
The overview screen for material-task list assignments appears.
7. Create a material-only assignment for the inspection plan (enter a material number, plant, and possibly a group counter). Note that you cannot use the assignments of multiple specifications to objects (country, customer, etc.) for task list determination when the inspection lot is being created. Therefore, you must always create a corresponding material-task list assignment for task list determination.
8. Create the required object assignments for the multiple specifications. Examples:
¡ Material, plant, object, and object type or
¡ Material, plant, customer, and object type or
¡ Material, plant, customer, object, and object type

Note that the object type must be compatible with the assignment. With the customer and object assignment in particular, you must decide whether the system should determine the suitability of a batch based on the customer or object.
9. To navigate to the level of the dependent characteristic specifications, choose Task Lists ® Dependent Characteristic Specifications. This is where you define multiple specifications.
10. In the context block of the EWB, enter the characteristic number and an operation number for which you want to define multiple specifications.
11. Choose Create.
The fields for entering the multiple specifications are ready for input.
12. Position the cursor on the Material field in the table and call up the input help for this field.
All existing material-task list assignments are displayed.
13. Select the desired assignment to the customer and/or object, for which you want to define multiple specifications.
14. Depending on whether you are processing a quantitative or qualitative inspection characteristic, enter the multiple specifications under the respective tab.

If you want to copy the standard specifications for the characteristic using the reference to a characteristic, set the corresponding indicator. The system then displays the standard specifications. If the reference indicator is set, the standard specifications are always valid for the multiple specification object. The standard specifications are also used in inspection processing as the basis for the valuation of the multiple specification.
15. Save the data.
