Function documentation Working with the Trading Contract Internet Application Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

As a customer, as soon as you log on, you go to the main screen of the Internet application. On this screen, trading contracts are displayed in various tab pages according to their status in the SAP System of the trading company.

From this screen, you can navigate to all subsequent screens and execute the required transactions. As soon as you have completed a transaction, you return to the main screen.

For further information, see Tab Pages.

Note

The descriptions of the tab pages relates to the standard system.

Features

As a customer, you can carry out the following activities in the Internet application:

If you want to buy a certain product, you enter an inquiry for this and send it to the trading company.

Note

An inquiry can only contain one item (that is, can relate to only one product).

If a trader enters a trading contract containing several items (as the result of negotiations carried out on the telephone, for example), each item is displayed as a separate contract in the customer's Internet application.

The person responsible in the trading company is informed automatically via SAP Business Workflow. For further information, see Forwarding Trading Contracts for Change (Workflow).

If, as the customer, you do not agree to the quotation you receive from the trading company, you can change it. In addition, you can subsequently change inquiries that you have already sent to the trading company.

To do this, choose Change in the details view of the relevant tab page. You can then change the data and enter an explanation in the top text field. You can only change the data at item level; you cannot change the data in the title field.

In the standard system, a changed quotation is displayed in tab page Outbound.

If you, as the customer, do not want to accept a quotation, you can delete it. Similarly, you can delete inquiries that you have already sent to the trading company. By doing this, you terminate the negotiating process.

In the standard system, a deleted quotation is displayed in the tab page Closed contracts.

If you, as the customer, accept a quotation, the negotiation process is closed. In the standard system, an accepted quotation is displayed in the tab page Released contracts.

SAP Business Workflow is used to automatically forward the trading contract created for the quotation to someone in the trading company who can release it in the SAP System. The relevant follow-on documents, such as a sales order and purchase order, are created in the SAP System in the trading company for released trading contracts. For further information, see Forwarding Trading Contracts for Release (Workflow).

In your Internet application, you can search for specific trading contracts. This search covers character strings in both the title field and the text.

The customer can choose Details to display the negotiation history (that is, to find out information on how negotiations with the trading company for a particular product have progressed). The last change in the history appears at the top of the list.

For released and closed trading contracts, you, as the customer, can display the follow-on documents, such as the sales order, that were created in the trading company system.

To do this, you choose Follow-on documents in the detailed view for released and closed trading contracts.

Note

You cannot change or delete an inquiry or quotation if it is being processed by a trading company employee. You have to wait until the employee has finished processing the relevant trading contract before you can delete the inquiry or quotation.
