Selecting a Car Rental 
Prerequisites
You are assigned to a sales office that supports booking of car rentals (compare Customizing for SAP Travel Planning under Master Data ® Travel Planning Control Parameters ®Feature TRVOF: Access parameters per user/employee group and Define travel service).
You have created a travel requestin the Planning Manager.

Rental Car Request
The Car Rental Request dialog box appears.
2. Enter the Pickup and Dropoff locations, Date and Time for the car rental.
You can enter the name of a town or an IATA location abbreviation. The system only recognizes towns that are defined as, or associated to, IATA locations. The standard system queries at the relevant airport car rental office. You can specify other branch offices via Enhanced search (see below).
Before you
start the car rental availability query, you can change the car rental
preferences of the traveler (if standard car rental
preferences have already been set up in the master data) or you can enter
these preferences. To do this, choose 
Preferences (quick info Car Rental
Preferences - F5).
If the enhanced search has been activated in Customizing, you can specify additional selection criteria for your query using the relevant pushbutton. (In Customizing for SAP Travel Planning, see Dialog and Planning Control ® Travel Planning Control ® Define Price and Availability Strategies).

To view the available car rentals, choose
Query – with quick info Rental
Car Availability (F8).
The screen Car Rental Availability: Provider List appears with a list of all the car rental companies available at the locations you entered.
4. Select the relevant provider using the appropriate pushbutton and choose Enter.
The screen Car Rental Availability: Vehicle List appears.
The dialog box contains information on the rate type offered, the available vehicle classes and their equipment as well as price information, possible distance restrictions, and charges for excess distance.
You can display details about the
rate basis and rate conditions for a selected vehicle by choosing 
Rate.
If a vehicle type has the symbol
Traveler Preference, this indicates
that it corresponds to the personal car rental preferences of the
traveler.
If the display strategy for car rentals Provider list with best-price vehicle is active in Customizing, the system does not present the entire list of all car rental providers for selection but, instead, a list with the most economical available vehicles for all available providers. (In Customizing for SAP Travel Planning, see Dialog and Planning Control ® Travel Planning Control ® Define Price and Availability Strategies).
5. Select the required vehicle type and choose Enter.
The Create Travel Plan for <...> overview appears again. The car rental request has the status prereserved for a certain period of time and can now be booked. To display the traveler's preferences or car rental reservation details, click on the relevant request in the overview.
If you do not need any other transportation or accommodations services you can now book the travel plan.
