Communication During Redirection
This process describes the communication between systems during redirection.
The redirect dialog does not directly update the database, but starts individual background processing for each inbound delivery involved. Therefore, the changes are not visible immediately in the dialog. This background processing includes the communication steps between the ERP system, SAP EWM, SAP ICH, and SAP APO.
A change of storage location also means a change of warehouse number, so two different SAP EWM warehouses are involved. A redirection is communicated to SAP EWM in two steps:
1. In the old warehouse, the existing inbound delivery of the old CP is deleted.
If this step is rejected by SAP EWM, then the complete further processing for this single delivery is terminated.
2. For the new warehouse, a new inbound delivery is created.
¡ In the ERP system the storage location and depending fields (warehouse number) of the original inbound delivery is changed.
¡ The changed inbound delivery is sent to the SAP EWM of the new CP.
¡ The IDoc with the changed data is sent to SAP ICH.
¡ SAP SCM-APO data is updated by means of the core interface (CIF).
