Creating and Using Derivations

Definition

You now manage master data derivations for Funds Management (FM) and fund accounting using a new derivation tool. This tool enables you to create, activate, deactivate, and reorder new master data assignments to funds, funds centers, commitment items, and functional areas based on the specific needs of your organization.

Use

You make direct master data table assignments using this tool by accessing the Funds Management menu and choosing Master Data ® Assignments ® Process Account Assignment Derivation.

Limitations

Only FM account assignments (funds, funds centers, commitment items, and functional areas) can be derived using this tool. The following fields are available for determining the derivations of FM account assignments:

Configuration

You create, delete, change, reorder, deactivate, activate, or test derivation rules by accessing the IMG and choosing Public Sector Management ® Funds Management Government ® Master Data ® Allocations to Account Assignments from Other Components

Existing FM account assignments are converted for use by the new derivation tool by using the report RFMXPR47.

You can compare the FM account assignments on existing postings with the account assignments derived by the derivation tool by running report RFFMS009 for the relevant document(s).
