Definition

Check-in is a yard activity performed when a vehicle arrives at the checkpoint.

Use

Check-in is primarily performed by checkpoint operators using the checkpoint tool.

This provides the most comprehensive check-in functionality, and enables checkpoint operators to create a range of follow-up activities, such as scheduling in the background and movements. For more information, see Using the Checkpoint Tool.

In addition, check-in can be performed by the following users:

·        Yard managers via the yard monitor. For more information, see Creating a Check-In Activity.

·        Users via RF devices. For more information, see Executing a Check-In Activity.

When a vehicle is checked-in to the yard:

·        A check-in activity is created with status 4 Completed.

·        The vehicle’s location is updated to that of the checkpoint.

·        The Delivery has Status 'In Plant' indicator is set in any delivery to which the vehicle is assigned

·        The shipment to which the vehicle is assigned is updated as follows:

¡        The status of the Check-in field is set to Completed.

¡        The actual date and time of check-in are filled in the relevant fields
