Working with Change Numbers 

Use

You use change numbers to create or change data records if the data record is not to be valid for the whole system period.

Features

If you want to work without change numbers, the validity period of the dangerous goods master records created runs from 01/01/0001 through 12/31/9999.

If you want to work with change numbers, you can:

·        Create dangerous goods master records with a key date

·        Run a data record split on existing dangerous goods master records on a key date

When a dangerous goods master record is split, its corresponding packaging data records are not split automatically as well. However, you can split packaging data records separately with the same or a different change number.

If you enter a change number as a selection criterion to select dangerous goods master records, the system selects

·        The dangerous goods master records that are valid on the key date of the change number, if you are in Change mode

·        The dangerous goods master records that were created with the change number, if you are in Display mode

For each dangerous goods master record, the packaging data records are selected whose validity period overlaps with the validity period of the dangerous goods master record.
