Searches
The following list contains general information on searching for objects. The information applies to all objects in Industrial Hygiene and Safety (work areas, agents, incident/accident log entries, and so on) and for the injury/illness log in the Occupational Health (EHS-HEA) component.
· If you want to edit or display an object, you must run a search first. The results appear in a hit list. From here you can branch to displaying or editing object data.
· The search allows you to make mass changes to selected objects in the hit list.
· All search criteria are linked with logic AND.
· For some search criteria such as the description, you can use both a generic search and a search with placeholders. In other words, you can set up your search parameters as follows:
¡ Single generic delimitation, for example, WKA*, *ei
¡ Double generic delimitation, for example, *saw*
¡ Placeholder in the middle of a key, for example, ES-D+-01
¡ A combination of both search methods, for example, *12+678*
· The system determines all data records with reference to a key date. For data records that have more than one version, this means that the system always displays the version of the data record valid on the key date.
· If you specify a validity interval in addition to the key date when searching, the system determines all data records that are valid on the key date and that also fulfill the selection criteria on at least one day within the validity interval. The days can be different for each selection criterion.
