Use

This section describes the settings required in the sales system and in SAP APO for rules-based ATP checks.

Prerequisites

You have transferred the master and Customizing data from the sales system to the SAP APO.

You have made settings for the ATP check in SAP APO.

Procedure

  1. In the sales system, maintain the settings for rules-based ATP check.
    1. In Customizing for Sales and Distribution choose Basic Functions ® Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements ® Availability Check ® Rule-Based Availability Check® Define Business Transaction.
    2. Example: GVF1

    3. In Customizing for Sales and Distribution choose Basic Functions ® Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements ® Availability Check ® Rule-Based Availability Check® Assign Business Transaction to Sales Order Type. Choose the detail view.

Example: Assign GVF1 to OR (standard order).

Note

The value of the business transaction is transferred from the sales system to the SAP APO system for the ATP check. There it is included in determination of the rule strategy. The business transaction is the same as the SAP APO business transaction.

  1. Maintain all settings in SAP APO for the condition technique for the rule-based ATP check.
    1. Define a condition table. You make this setting in Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) under Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Rules-Based Availability Check ® Define Condition Table.
    2. Create a field catalog containing the permitted fields (for example, MATNR, AUART, and KUNNR). Define and generate a condition table.

      Example: Condition table 701 (MATNR)

      Note

Condition tables for rules-based ATP checks are not delivered with the standard system.

    3. Define an access sequence. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Rules-Based Availability Check ® Maintain Access Sequences.
    4. Example: Access sequence

      Access sequence

      Sequential number

      Table

      Fields

      CM01

      10

      Table 701

      MATNR

    5. Define a condition type. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Rules-Based Availability Check ® Maintain Condition Type.
    6. Example:

Condition type CM01 is assigned to access sequence CM01.

    7. Maintain a rule strategy. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Rules-Based Availability Check ® Maintain Rule Strategy.
    8. Example for rule strategy:

      Rule strategy CM01

      Level 1

      Counter 0

      Condition type CM01

    9. Assign a rule strategy. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Rules-Based Availability Check ® Assign Rule Strategy.

Example: Assigning a rule strategy

Activity type A stands for Create, B for Change, and C for Copy (for reference documents). The technical scenario, the business transaction , and the action type are also called activation parameters.

  1. Make settings in SAP APO in Integrated Rule Maintenance. From the SAP Easy Access screen choose Master Data ® Rule Maintenance ® Integrated Rule Maintenance.

For more information, see Integrated Rule Maintenance.

    1. Create a location determination procedure.
    2. Example: Location determination procedure LOKA01_CM: Type 0

      Location

      Valid from

      Valid to

      PL0011@BSG

      PL2200@BSG

      01.01.2001

      12.31.9999

      Note

The validity period in the product substitution- or location determination procedures is evaluated by the basic method performing the checks. This method decides, at runtime, whether a confirmation can be considered. The system does not only consider the calculated confirmation date (material staging date), but also considers the inward elements that exist within the given validity period. The validity period in the rules is used, for example, for sales campaigns for products that should only be offered for sale for a limited period of time.

    3. Create a rule control (for example, CM01). Enter an access strategy in location determination (for example, a list forwards as of entry, cyclical).
    4. Create a rule and assign the relevant procedures to this rule. Perform a rule evaluation, if necessary.

Example: Rule REG01_CM

Rule type

Max. substitutions

Location det. procedure

Rule control

Inclusive

No restrictions

LOKA01_CM

CM01

  1. Create rule determination in SAP APO. From the SAP Easy Access screen choose Master Data ® Rule Maintenance ® Create Rule Determination. Select a condition type and maintain the condition record. Assign a rule to the key combination.

Example: Rule determination: Selection using condition type CM01

MATNR

Rule

QIR001

REG01_CM

Note

You must enter the values (for example, for product and location) without converting them (suffix@BSG).
