Use

The information system contains the central analysis functions for Risk Management, such as NPV analysis, value at risk analysis, and gap analysis. You access the analysis functions either directly using menu options in the task level menu, or by means of reports within drilldown reporting.

Note

The inclusion of parameters in the drilldown takes place interactively within a processed report. Defined reports, for which you have entered parameters for the sorting and display of data, can be stored in a report directory, and called up again online or started in the background at any time.

For detailed information on drilldown reporting components such as forms, reports, characteristics and key figures, see Structure link CA - General Drilldown Reporting.

Scope of Functions

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

  1. Single value analysis

This evaluation examines the cash flows at single transaction level. This makes the financial object the smallest reporting unit.

Caution

For all single value reports, you can set the Summarized data only indicator, which controls whether the cash flows and account balances summarized during data transfer are valued and displayed in summarized form, or whether they are to be displayed fully, meaning not summarized. Data for fully disbursed loans, accounts and variable transactions is particularly likely to be summarized for data transfer purposes.

The following evaluations are available within single value analysis:

  1. Portfolio evaluation

This evaluation examines the aggregated cash flows at every portfolio hierarchy node level. This makes the base portfolio the smallest reporting unit.

Recommendation

As from Release 4.02, you have the possibility of differentiating the transactions belonging to a base portfolio. To do this, create a characteristic with different, unique values for each transaction (for example, the transaction number). Add this characteristic to the current analysis structure but do not assign it to a view and portfolio hierarchy. Now use the following possibilities:

Evaluations that use the drilldown function allow you to calculate and display several different key figures in an evaluation. You can choose structured reporting (using the portfolio hierarchy) or generic reporting, depending on whether you want to display the valuation results in the structure of the portfolio hierarchy or risk hierarchy.

Using the following report types, you can carry out a structured evaluation based on a portfolio hierarchy. In this process, the single transactions are summarized into evaluation units on the portfolio hierarchy levels and then evaluated.

Note

As from release 4.61, report types NPV (old) and Gap (old) are only available in drilldown if you have set the indicator Include old report types in the maintenance for the analysis structure within Customizing. To do this choose Edit ® Report types.

Besides the cross-structure report types already mentioned, additional report types are available in each analysis structure. These carry out evaluations for all characteristics and characteristic values in the analysis structure. Such generic or multi-dimensional evaluations are available with the following report types:

  1. Results database

As an alternative to the drilldown, you can carry out portfolio evaluations using the functions of the results database. For more information see Evaluations using the Results Database
