Function documentation Releasing Plan Data Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to release a cost planning run or a personnel cost plan after the management has approved the plan. When you release the plan, one or more original documents are generated.

Integration

To transfer a personnel cost plan to Controlling, you must first release the plan data.

Features

·        You can release cost planning runs separately or release the entire plan together with all cost planning runs at the same time. When you perform this release step, the system creates an original document for each controlling area of the plan data.

·        You can also release cost planning runs even if the relevant detail planning is not yet complete. In this case, the system displays an appropriate message. If you release the cost planning run before detail planning is complete, you must update the relevant original document in Managing Personnel Cost Plans when detail planning has been completed.

·        You can cancel the release of a cost planning run. If you cancel the release, the system deletes the relevant original document(s).

Note

If you want to delete a personnel cost plan that has been released, you must first cancel the release.

Activities

...

       1.      In Managing Personnel Cost Plans, place your cursor on a personnel cost plan or a cost planning run and choose Plan Data ® Transfer to CO ® Release Planning Run.

       2.      The system checks whether the same employee or organizational object is included more than once in the plan. If this is the case, the system does not release the plan and informs you of this in an appropriate error message as standard.

Note

The system performs the same check in Managing Personnel Cost Plans when you choose Plan Data ® Check Object Assignment.

In Customizing for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation, you can use the Message Type Check Object Assignment to Plan switch to define that the system should release plan data regardless of whether cost objects are included more than once in the plan.

       3.      The system aligns the times of the released data with the posting periods in Controlling. It also converts the cost item amounts.

Note

The Business Add-In (BAdI) Override Periods for Posting to CO enables you to change the start and end date of posting periods read from Controlling to suit your customer requirements. This allows you to influence when the cost item amounts are converted to the posting periods.

       4.      The system generates an original document for each controlling area and displays the original documents. If cost objects were included more than once in the plan and you have defined that the system should, nevertheless, release the cost planning run, the system also displays an error log.

Example

The following figure shows an example of a released planning run and the resulting original document:
