Overdue Items
Use
This function allows you to take account of open items related to the same customer and the same contract when disbursing a loan (loans given only). A debit position is created for the receivable and a withholding amount equal to the open item amount is generated. The open item is cleared when the disbursement is posted and the selected open items are deducted from the disbursement amount.
Prerequisites
The open item must fulfill the following conditions:
- The item must not be blocked for payment. The payment block prevents the item from being considered for withholding several times, for instance if you make several partial disbursements.
If you decide not to withhold an open item after you have started processing, you may need to reset the payment block on this item manually. You can do this, if you are authorized, by choosing Customer line item. This calls up the FI function Display customer line item.
- The current contract number is saved in the item. Only items with the current contract number are displayed. Depending on your Customizing settings, there may be cases where the contract number is not maintained in the open item which is to be assigned to the contract. In this case, you need to enter the contract number in the FI document.
- The item must contain the correct contract type and a valid flow type.
- The item belongs to the customer account of the main borrower displayed in the Create Disbursement: Settlement screen and comes from the same contract.
- The item may not be a disbursement which has not yet been disbursed to the customer by the payment program and is therefore still open.
Procedure
Choose Overdue items.
The Create Disbursement: Overdue Items screen appears.
You can use this function to take account of open items related to the same customer during the disbursement. In other words, you can withhold an amount due and subsequently clear the open items. The selected open items are deducted from the disbursement amount.
If the item is flagged to be withheld, a payment block is set for the item and the net disbursement amount is reduced by the relevant amount (or the gross amount is increased).
