In Payroll you can determine that the deductions of an employee do not exceed a certain limit in a certain period. To do this, you group wage types into wage type classes and create one or more limits per wage type class.

The limits on deductions have the same features in systems with concurrent employment as those without. The function LIMIT (Limiting Deductions) forms a limit per personnel assignment during the payroll run.

• You can specify a grouping reason in Customizing for Payroll. In this way, you can group several personnel assignments within a wage type class. The system then creates a limit for the assignment grouping that, if necessary, overrides the available limits for individual assignments within this grouping.
• In table T51D4 (Rules for Limits) you can specify whether the wage type in the internal table RT or internal table RT_PERSON is read, if you create a limit using a rule for limit. In this way, you can control whether the limit should be created on the personnel assignment level or the person level.
