Use

You use this procedure to create another change state for an existing recipe.

Prerequisites

If, in addition to status management, the check of dependent change states is active for a recipe type, all subsequent change states must have In process or Rejected status (see Checking of Dependent Change States).

When you create the change state, you need a change master record in which the required valid-from date and the following object types are active:

For recipe editing, object type Recipe Management

For formula editing, the additional object type Substance In recipes with dependent formulas, you also need this object type for recipe editing.

You can create the change master record, which is identified by a change number, in the system as follows:

In engineering change management before recipe editing

From within the recipe when creating the change state

You can either create the change master record manually or let the system generate it. If you want to use generation, you must have assigned an appropriate change number profile to the recipe type in Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Recipe Settings.

Procedure

...

       1.      Load the recipe for which you want to create another change state and select it in the hit list or the navigation area by double-clicking.

       2.      Choose the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Change States tab page.

       3.      Create a new change state. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Change State.

       4.      Enter the following data, as required:

If you want to create the change state with an existing change master record, enter the relevant change number.

If you want to generate the change master record while you create the change state, enter the key date as of which the change state is to be valid.

If required, you can also assign the new change number. In this case, you can also create the change master record manually.

Note

The key date and the valid-from date of the change master record must be after the date of the first recipe change state.

       5.      If you entered a new change number, decide whether you want to create the change master record manually or generate it, and enter the data for the change master record if required:

...

                            a.      Enter data in the change header as required.

                            b.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Object types and activate object types PVS variant, Specification, Characteristics of Class, Classification, and Recipe Management.

                            c.      Save the change master record.

                            d.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Continue.

       6.      Confirm your entries.

The Basic Data view is then displayed.

       7.      Change the view as required.

       8.      Save the recipe.

Result

The change state is created on the key date or the valid-from date of the change number. The validity period of the preceding change state is shortened accordingly. It ends with the day before.
